The 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000 was a race for the ages, and the build-up to the Great Race was just as thrilling, with the annual Top 10 Shootout once again delivering a spectacular show for motorsport fans.
For James Courtney, the 2025 edition of The Great Race carried extra significance, marking his final Bathurst 1000 as a full-time Supercars driver following his retirement announcement earlier in the season.
Teaming up once again with Jack Perkins, the #7 Snowy River Caravans Mustang showed solid pace in the challenging, ever-changing conditions. After starting from 22nd on the grid, the pair impressively charged through the field to sit as high as seventh in the later stages of the race.
Unfortunately, a fairytale finish wasn’t to be for JC, with a gearbox issue bringing their day to an early end.
Regardless of the result, the #7 Courtney/Perkins Mustang looked superb on track and holds special significance for collectors — celebrating James Courtney’s final full-time Bathurst 1000 appearance. A fitting tribute to the 2010 Supercars Champion and four-time Bathurst podium finisher.
