Description
Holden HK Monaro GTS 327 Road Car – Warwick Yellow
1st Decorated Sample
The HK series Monaro is of historical important to Australia, as it was the first successful volume selling locally-built coupe. The HK also won the Wheels Car of the Year award, and Bathurst in its first time out.
Introduced in July 1968, the eye-catching design was inspired by the ‘coke’ bottle trend of long hood-short boot. The HK Monaro was available in three models, base, GTS and GTS327. The GTS 327 was powered by a Chev 327 ci (5.4l) engine, that was good for 250bph (186kW), coupled with the front disc brakes, extended fuel tank and stiff suspension, turned the Monaro into a legend.
