Mobil 1 Optus Racing #25 Ford Mustang GT 2025 Betr Darwin Triple Crown Indigenous Round Chaz Mostert
Walkinshaw Andretti United unveiled its striking Indigenous Round liveries for Ryan Wood and Chaz Mostert ahead of the 2025 Betr Darwin Triple Crown. The powerful artwork, titled “The Gwiyarl,” was created by Monica Taylor, a proud Badimia Yamatji woman from Mount Magnet on the edge of the Western Desert in Western Australia. Both the #2 Mobil 1 Truck Assist Racing Ford Mustang and the #25 Mobil 1 Optus Racing Ford Mustang Supercars carried the same design, with subtle colour variations distinguishing the two cars across the race weekend.
The design celebrated Walkinshaw Andretti United’s core values of family, trust, and loyalty — elements embedded deeply within both the team’s culture and the artwork. At the centre of the design was the Australian Goanna, an animal of great significance to many Indigenous Australians. Known for its speed and agility, the Goanna represented the pace and spirit of the WAU Supercars. The story within the livery depicted various tribes tracking the Goanna, following its footprints through the sand to their burrows, where it would be gathered, cooked over coals, and shared with family — a reflection of unity, tradition, and collective effort.
Visually, the livery stood out with flowing patterns and earthy tones that blended traditional dot painting with strong, symbolic imagery. The intricate Goanna motif stretched across the bodywork, with footprints trailing alongside, representing movement and purpose. The use of varying shades of teal and hints of yellow on Mostert’s Mustang created a natural, organic feel, while the complementary colour shifts between both cars gave each a unique personality.
Together, they told a story of heritage, teamwork, and the drive for success — mirroring the spirit of Walkinshaw Andretti United on and off the track.
